Capital City Park

A remarkable project focused on the transformation of impervious surfaces and the return of biodiversity.

Park(ing)
The park area is being developed on the site of an existing parking lot, with the project aiming to transform the gray, unwelcoming, and impervious area into an inspiring, sustainable, and multifunctional green space. This park will serve as a green core, uniting architecture and the surrounding environment. This is not a reconstruction project but a creation of a completely new urban environment that significantly increases greenery, supports biodiversity, and enhances the quality of life. The focus of the concept is practicality and sustainability. - creating a multifunctional environment that benefits humans and ecosystems and keeping the adaptability and resilience of the territory for a long time.

Mirror of Infinity - the lake as the core of the design
The site is centered around a lake whose shape is inspired by the symbol of infinity — the ouroboros. The lake features a natural bottom, a waterfall, and the sound of flowing water, creating a fully immersive sensory experience. The pathway network resembles a plant cell and provides easy access from all directions to the heart of the area. Integrated within the design are diverse spaces — amphitheater-style seating zones, geoplastics and hills, expansive grassy lawns, as well as a peripheral green buffer zone.

Vibrant Flora and Landscaping
The landscaping and plant diversity are among the most distinctive features of the green area. Over 30 tree species, more than 45 ornamental plants, and over 40 moisture-loving and aquatic species around the pond have been incorporated. The “Blooming river,” which connects the various green spaces, changes in shades and colors throughout the area, creating a picturesque and dynamic accent. Carefully selected vegetation provides a year-round vision and a sense of a living landscape that evolves with the rhythm of the seasons. This ensures that the space remains vibrant and engaging throughout the year, attracting both people and urban wildlife. Rich plant diversity, immersive sensory elements, and sculpted terrain define the character of the site, where design, nature, and sustainability intertwine.

This project demonstrates how a once gray, sealed urban area can be transformed into a lively, sustainable, and richly layered green space, where people, nature, and architecture coexist in harmony.
